New for 2024, the host every other month will be Ben Barkworth. Barkworth, founder of FASTFOILS, will be heading up a new series focusing on the expansive careers you can have in the industry, connecting with other artists and taking you along with him around the world.

Barkworth is the owner of JUSTB Salon, Toronto and an international award-winning hairstylist with over 15 years of experience. He is also the founder of FASTFOILS and leads with a mission to inspire, educate, create and promote hair health.

This month Barkworth is joined by Leysa Carrillo to talk about their journey to the industry, what their plans are for 2024 and how they met.

Carrillo, a Cuban native based in Florida, with over 16 years of experience in the hair industry. She is an innovative expert in hair coloring, specializing in curly hair. She is a nationally - internationally recognized industry leader known for her transformative work on textured hair and is the founder of Forever Curls Academy and Redken brand ambassador.

Carrillo is passionate about advancing education in hair care, trending styles, and the curl movement. Her viral content has been featured in publications like INSIDER, and she has won the American Influence Award in both 2020 and 2023, as well as being nominated for Educator of the Year at the NAHA. Additionally, she is the first female to win two #OneShot awards in one night. Her creative projects have been featured in Allure Magazine, in Touch National, Daily Mail, Yahoo News, and Seventeen, with inspiration drawn from brands like Lacroix and Halo Top Ice Cream. As a respected educator and panelist, Carrillo appears at influential beauty industry events and shows across the country.
