Why Alexey Navalny's death matters / NY judge calls out Trump's lies in ruling / A.I. & democracy

The world is reacting to word from Russia that well-known activist Alexey Navalny died behind bars. Americans have problems of our own, but you should absolutely pay attention to this. I’ll explain why.

A New York judge is ordering former president Donald Trump to pay hundreds of millions of dollars, and keep himself & his sons out of New York's business scene, as a penalty for lying their way into better business loans. The ruling from Judge Arthur Engoron also called out Mr. Trump directly as an impenitent liar. I'll have the details, and that excerpt of the ruling.

Silicon Valley’s leaders are promising to take a stronger stance against AI deepfakes ahead of the 2024 US presidential election. Is that even possible, considering how those leaders are also supercharging AI’s development?
