(Music 5-8 seconds)

INTRO (pre-recorded)

Marie: From Minnesota Native News… this is a COVID-19 Daily Update.

MARIE: I’m Marie Rock.

MARIE:

As many families face economic challenges brought about by the pandemic… health officials want to remind parents of students who received free and reduced lunch… that additional help is available.

The Pandemic EBT also known as the P- EBT program provides up to 4-hundred and 25 dollars per child for groceries.

There is no need to qualify for SNAP as long as a child was on free or reduced lunch program while attending school this past year.

But, the deadline to register is quickly approaching.

Applications must be completed by Friday, July 31st.

Officials say that many parents who qualify for these funds have NOT applied.

So they are urging people to do so… soon!

To apply…. Go online to MN dot P dash ebt DOT org. That’s MN dot P dash ebt DOT org.

Or you can search Minnesota Pandemic EBT in any search engine… to find the right page on the Minnesota department of human services website.

If approved, families will receive a Minnesota P-EBT card in the mail within 10 business days, along with instructions on how to activate the card.

All eligible families will receive P-EBT benefits as long as they apply by July 31.

Many Minnesota families are facing difficult times and finding it hard to pay bills and access healthy foods.

Help is available through public programs like the P-EBT.

So check it out!
