We were Saved… By the Bell!

****spoiler alert**** Who hasn’t watched the show yet? Peacock’s Saved By The Bell has released their 2nd Season and the Rubber Ducky Gang is here to give you their take! This season was packed full of laughs and smart writing. After finally getting the Douglas kids to stay at Bayside, the crew of Daisy, Mac, Lexi, Devante, Aisha and Jamie are ready for Spirit Week! Yeah, remember that one thing that took up part of an episode in the Original series. They made a whole season around it! The series hits homerun with Nicky Trendz when they go over the Spanish Language Class and Latin-American Identity. Nicky loves how Aisha confronts the teacher and the curriculum for the undercover racism and A.C. Slater’s further development as full rounded Latino Character. That’s just the tip of the iceberg though, because the season makes a great attempt at tackling other social issues we confronted in 2020-21 in a very fluid and thought-out way. Manny Oso is huge fan of the TV callbacks and meta humor. The show goes over the Old Gang’s past and plugs in some actor filmography for laughs. There are returns and re-do’s of some Bayside school traditions. An amazing homage is done for the late Dustin Diamond’s character, Screech. Pus, there’s a great season-long twist that just made Manny jump for joy when Nicky see’s he had predicted correctly. (You know what, make sure you watch the Original series’ Chess episode, you’ll thank them later for that.) This epsiode ends with major hopes for a 3rd season! Fans need to know if Zack wins his next election, do Daisy and Mac sparks flames, and shows us the Summer at The Malibu Beach Club episodes! But you tell us! What did you think of the new season?
