Ep. 372 - Revisiting Malaysia Airlines Flight MH-370

Back in March of 2014, Sean Spoonts wrote an excellent article for SOFREP that gained a great deal of traction titled, "Alright, Goodnight - Does Malaysia Want to Know What Happened to Flight MH-370?" As some of you may remember, a great deal of conspiracy theory immediately surrounded what happened to that infamous flight, and it has not gone away due to the lack of any sufficient evidence that we can draw much of a conclusion from. For example, Fox News contributor and former Air Force Lieutenant General Thomas McInerney, who has a history of making outrageous claims, spoke of the plane likely landing in Pakistan with nothing to back up that assertion. The great mystery of where this plane was, sparked the idea for Sean to get together with two experts and refute some of the speculation out there using facts. To this day, the piece holds up. Fast forward to now, the Malaysian government plans to release a new report on the flight this coming Monday. With good reason, Sean is skeptical. So, since Sean was in town to work on some upcoming promotion for Brandon Webb's next book "Mastering Fear," I got him in studio to lay out all of the facts. For those unfamiliar, Sean's been a friend of the site since it's very inception, and his military background is with the Navy as an anti-submarine warfare operator and search and rescue Aircrewman. Sean and I also talk some current events, which includes the disgraceful destruction of a memorial to fallen Navy SEAL Michael Murphy on Long Island, New York. SOFREP is holding a raffle to benefit the Lt Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation due to this. We hope that you partake, and in the process possibly win some kick ass gear from Crate Club.

Episode 492: UK election mess, surprising hunting dog pick, "Bloody Sunday" & Operation Banner

On this show, Big Phil Campion records from London to discuss his favorite hunting dog (which will surprise you), the UK election mess, and stories about "Operation Banner" in Northern Ireland. This episode is brought to you by Mack Weldon. Their mission is simple: to make sure all your basics (and beyond) are smartly designed and that shopping is easy and convenient. Mack Weldon was founded because they wanted more out of the basics and always questioned how something so essential could be such a pain in the ass to buy? The frustration was real and their “eureka moment” happened in a department store aisle full of brands that dominated their top drawer. Surrounded by a mind-numbing assortment of underwear and socks, they realized consistent fit and quality became a game of roulette… so they decided to take matters into their own hands. They started from scratch and engineered their own fabric. They made sure the design process was meticulous, so you can count on the fit being the same each time. They built a world class customer experience. The difference is in the details, so they obsessed over every stitch and seam until they’d reached their definition of perfect. Episode 487: Best of SOFREP Radio with bin Laden shooter Rob O'Neill

Episode 487: Best of SOFREP Radio with bin Laden shooter Rob O'Neill

Travel obligations delayed the recording of a new episode until next week, but don't worry, we found a classic in the archives. In March of 2019, former host Ian Scotto was joined by Robert J. O'Neill, author of "The Operator: Firing the Shots that Killed Osama bin Laden and My Years a SEAL Team Warrior." As is usually the case when Rob swings by, we had a lot of fun discussing all sorts of topics on this episode. We talked about the surreal moment for him of being interviewed by "King of All Media" Howard Stern after releasing his memoir, hanging with "Navy SEALs" star Charlie Sheen, being recognized by New York hiphop legends Onyx, and working with his pal Tim Montana. We also got into some more serious topics like the accusations of war crimes against Chief Eddie Gallagher, tensions between veterans of the SEAL community, his history with President Donald Trump, and Rob's views on foreign policy. Rob's been hard at work with his organization Your Grateful Nation in helping special operations veterans transition into corporate America. He also has some kick ass gear and signed books available over at RJO Apparel. Be sure to follow Rob on Instagram & Twitter @McHooyah where he's very active, and let him know what you thought of the interview. We'd love to have him back again. Always a great discussion with The Operator. Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.comSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this episode of SOFREP Radio, journalist and Marine Veteran Alex Hollings sits down with U.S. Air Force F-35 pilot instructor, Major Justin “Hasard” Lee. Lee has nearly 400 hours of combat flight time at the stick of an F-16. Now he spends his days teaching the next generation of pilots how to fly the world’s most advanced fighter, along with hosting the popular podcast, “The Professionals Playbook.” Hollings and Lee discuss what sets the F-35 apart from other military aircraft, and how the presence of the advanced fighter can even make older jets better in a fight. Then Hollings gets to the really important stuff... like what a real fighter pilot thinks of the movie “Iron Eagle.” If you haven't already noticed, the new SOFREP website has been launched!
