Staying in Touch with Family: Why is it so Hard?

Is it okay to be bad at keeping in touch? It doesn’t feel okay. It feels shitty. Every time we forget to call someone it feels like a choice, like we've prioritized something else that's more important to us than the people we care about. Except scrolling our phones definitely is not more important than calling our grandparents.... so why don't we prioritize it?
