About today’s guest: Award winning journalist Senay Ozdemir gained fame as the first Turkish tv presenter in Europe. Working in the wine business since 2013, Senay concluded there was more that needed to be done to champion women in the industry and to publicly acknowledge and reward their work. Senay founded House of Red & White to import high-end brands from her native Turkey, she gave insight into the world of female winemakers with an inspiring TED talk in Amsterdam and in 2018 she started organizing the Women in Wine Expo to create a unique platform for women experts to connect with their peers. Now, Senay and her team are preparing the third annual global conference in London, to have women in wine gather, from East to West and from North to South. Senay moderated hundreds of conferences including the inaugural Wonder Women of Wine in Austin, exactly where her wine adventure started when working as Journalism professor at the University of Texas. Cynthia is a wine writer, a judge at international wine and sake competitions, she consults with restaurants and enotecas developing comprehensive wine lists and food pairings, and she advises clients who want to curate an Italian wine collection. She currently works for Vinitaly International in Verona as a Project Manager, Educator, and the host of VOICES Series on The Italian Wine Podcast, focusing on diversity and inclusion in the global wine industry.
