Moving on to the news, we've got a diverse array of stories for you today. First up, we'll be taking a look at how the plastic industry thinks we can solve the waste crisis. With plastic pollution reaching crisis levels, it's clear that something needs to be done - but will the industry's proposed solutions be enough? Next, we'll be exploring the rise in requests for sterilization procedures in the wake of the Roe v. Wade decision. As reproductive rights become increasingly under threat, many people are turning to permanent solutions to take control of their own bodies. We'll also be heading over to San Francisco, where a new app is causing controversy by allowing users to spy on bars and see how busy they are. While some see it as a useful tool for avoiding crowds, others argue that it's an invasion of privacy. In the world of medicine, we'll be examining a rare case of an eyeball bee sting. It turns out that getting stung in the eye is just as unpleasant as it sounds, but fortunately, doctors were able to treat the patient successfully. Meanwhile, in South Africa, researchers are turning to nuclear technology to curb rhino poaching. By using radioactive isotopes to track the animals, they hope to make it easier to catch poachers and protect these endangered creatures. We'll also be exploring the link between gender equality and meat consumption. A new study suggests that men are more likely to eat meat in cultures where gender equality is low - raising questions about the role of masculinity in dietary choices. Finally, we'll be taking a look at the rise in mass shootings and violence during the summer months. While there's no one cause for this trend, experts suggest that a combination of factors - including heat, increased social interaction, and access to guns - may be to blame.
