Welcome to the inaugural UFO Book Club, where Brian Hastie and Angelo Fiorentino of the Double Density Podcast, Sam Fredrickson of the Not Alone Podcast, and Rob discuss The Close Encounters Man: How One Man Made the World Believe in UFOs by Mark O'Connell. Diving deep, the group looks at the life and career of J Allen Hynek from the perspective of three people who read the book, and one (Sam) who didn't, but learned a lot about Hynek through a series of episodes about the history of the U.S. government's studies of the UFO phenomenon. They look at Hynek's journey from staunch skeptic, dismissing the UFO phenomenon as only a fad, to believer a believer in the phenomenon.
