Interview with George Gamota, Ukrainian-American scientist

George Gamota was born in Lviv, Ukraine, in 1939. He and his family emigrated from Ukraine during World War II and eventually settled in Minneapolis, Minn. George was educated in the U.S. and became a scientist after obtaining a PhD in Physics from the University of Mich. His professional career spanned more than 30 years in business, technology and higher education. After his retirement, he played a prominent role in Ukraine after independence in 1991 as a consultant in science and technology.
