Ani DiFranco

Ani DiFranco

Ani DiFranco is an American singer-songwriter and founder of Righteous Babe Records, through which she has released two dozen studio albums and EPs since 1990 in addition to numerous live albums that capture her rousing, emotional live performances. Ani's latest album, Revolutionary Love was released in January 2021. She wrote the title track for her friend Valarie Kaur, a civil rights leader who was working on a book called Revolutionary Love Project. "I actually wrote her three songs," says Ani. "And that one, I felt spoke so much to my own mission and my own work and my own life. It kind of became my mantra as well." Ani started a U.S. tour on June 17 that will take her up the West Coast, to the East Coast and across the Midwest before a stop in Colorado at Planet Bluegrass Ranch on August 13 followed by the Etheridge Island festival in Playa Mujeres, Mexico from August 30 to September 5. She will perform as a trio, as she has for many years, with Todd Sickafoose on bass and keyboards and Terence Higgins on percussion.
