BLM Series 2: I Can't Breathe w/ Devon

BLM Series 2: I Can't Breathe w/ Devon

I got a chance to speak with fellow off-work-due-to-COVID exotic dancer, Devon, this week. She identifies as an Afro-Indigenous and queer individual and I had the opportunity to catch up with her on the Black Lives Matter movement and Juneteenth. She had attended both of the peaceful and anti-racist rallies in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on June 5th and 19th and was able to contribute to the latter through song. She performed her original song, "I Can't Breathe" at Sunset Beach where the march ended and reflected on her experience performing such a heavy piece in front of thousands. Her employment in the sex industry was physically short, recently celebrating her 1-year anniversary; however, she was able to shift her work online which she is enjoying. Learn more about our thoughtful conversation and the current projects she is currently working on in this episode. www.xfxsxr.com Don't forget to LIKE, RATE, REVIEW and SUBSCRIBE! @strippedbysia @siasteph

The No. 5 Orange is the first strip club in Canada to reopen - but of course, with new health regulations in place. What kind of standards have they instilled? COVID-19 Series 5: The Tangled Web of L4L, S4S and Telegram Drops w/ Asia and Pocket Phoenix

COVID-19 Series 5: The Tangled Web of L4L, S4S and Telegram Drops w/ Asia and Pocket Phoenix

I'm always curious to see how sex workers are compensating for loss of revenue during this pandemic. Recently, I was invited to some Like 4 Like (L4L), Share 4 Share (S4S) and Telegram drop groups on Instagram and although I didn't stay long, I wanted to divulge into the topic. Other women I knew that were involved in the groups were Asia and Pocket Phoenix, two past guests here on the podcast (episode 2 and 23, respectively). We break down the details on what it's like to be in these giant networking groups, how it works, how you can benefit from it, and the amount of work that is needed to succeed to gain the full benefit of participating. Of course, it isn't all play - it's a ton of work. If you're looking to grow your following, OnlyFans and overall online presence, this is an episode you should be paying close attention. COVID-19 Series 4: The History of Sex Work, Women's Bodies, Rights...and a Fuckload of Tangents w/ Adrianne Spring

This week I'm joined by Adrianne Spring, an exotic dancer based in the Westcoast of Canada. A self-proclaimed history buff, we deep dive into the historical origins of sex work, feminist roots, and how it relates to sex work today. We speak about a myriad of topics relating to the bodies of women, women's rights, abortion, sex tourism and trafficking, and online sex work. Adrianne was able to speak and touch on a plethora of subjects - we got off on a LOT of tangents this week (she LOVES to talk!) but it all steers back to stripping and sex work. COVID-19 Series 2: COVID Curtain Call - Tales from a Showgirl w/ Kordella Kosor

We are STILL RECORDING! YAY!!! This week I caught up with Kordella Kosor, a traveling feature exotic dancer who was former Miss Nude World and Exotic Dancer United States. She recently relocated from Vancouver to Winnipeg due to COVID-19 which is still rampant across the globe today. She opens up on she got into the industry, competing in pageants and touring all around North America and how she has had to modify her work due to the coronavirus. Canceled tours, flights, bookings and more - we've heard it all. And it's heartbreaking. But with Kordella's positive outlook on life and vast amount of experience in the industry, she's taking a well-deserved break and gaining ammo for her fiery return to the stage.
