Detective Scott Day had been on the Edmond Police Force for just about 20 years. Close to his retirement, he could reflect back on his career and be proud of the work that he had done…all except for that one case from 18 years prior. He had been a rookie officer then, and the first to respond to the scene of a murder and a violent sexual assault. The case had gone unsolved and haunted the community. It was something that he thought about often. The house, the details, he could see the only survivor standing in the doorway of the house battered and covered in blood sobbing as he ran to her. That’s why it was odd that there he was in 2004 and he stood again in front of a brick house with a large bush in front of a window on a suburban street. It was like deja vu….he got his bearings and looked around. He was actually only steps away from the house he responded to back in 1986. Had he done it again…
