I'm heartbroken and have anger and resentment toward my parents. I've been working on handling the grief, not shutting down during difficult conversations/situations, asserting I'm an adult in control of my life and not seeking approval, and establishing boundaries with my mother. After 4 years together he seems to be ok with this kind of an arrangement - still living separately, barely seeing each other, and it’s an active choice he’s making. Everything in my life will change, and nothing in his will. We’re not getting any younger and I don’t know if I can continue to put more years into this relationship. In short, I just found out I have a 35yo son I never knew about and have had a tough and emotional week and want to make sure I am available to him but I also feel guilt, sorrow, and remorse and don’t want to harm anything positive going on in his life.
