017: Life-changing Revival (Psalm 119)

Before I read the longest psalm and chapter in the entire Bible, you may find it interesting to know that this psalm is a bit odd. It’s divided into 22 stanzas representing the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet. In the NASB it’s subtitled as "Meditations and Prayers Relating to the Law of God." Almost every verse says something about God’s Word, common synonyms would be statutes, law, commandments, precepts, ordinances.

Also used frequently are the words revive, heart, love, delight.

You’ll hear me try to pronounce the Hebrew letter of the alphabet that preludes each stanza. The written Hebrew alphabet is fascinating to me! I enjoy studying the connections between the ancient pictographic Hebrew and the paleo-Hebrew symbol. It's a lot of fun, and I'll give you a mini-Hebrew lesson in this episode!!
