This week, The Lautners are joined by social media sensation Jake Shane, better known as octopusslover8! Jake kicks things off by sharing the story behind his famous username and how his witty abbreviations (or nyming) helped skyrocket him to social media fame. He opens up about his experience growing up with undiagnosed OCD, discussing the symptoms he faced and when he finally sought help. Jake walks us through his journey with exposure therapy and how his OCD has evolved as he’s grown older, along with his hyperfixation on female pop stars. He also opens up about how he navigates other people’s opinions and deals with hate comments, sharing the mental health strategies he relies on to stay grounded. To wrap up, Jake talks about his podcast, Therapuss, including his favorite episode and a sneak peek at his live tour, Therapuss Live!
