8. Game Mothibi (Botswana) - How can ubuntu mentorship empower women in Africa?

Erika speaks to Game about her experiences founding sport for social impact initiatives in Botswana, receiving her Sport and Olympic Studies masters degree in Japan, and the power of mentorship.

Game G. G. Mothibi is the Senior Manager at The Association For International Sport for All (TAFISA), and currently serves as board Chairperson of Africa Sport Venture Group. Game brings extensive experience as a founder who has developed Sport for Development initiatives in Botswana and across Africa, including: Founding Director of Sport Management Agency - a sport Consultancy firm based in Botswana, Co-Founding Trustee of Wecho Trust - a Sport for Development and Peace organization in Botswana, Founder of Women and Cricket in Botswana, Founding Chairperson of Women and Table Tennis in Botswana, and Co-Founder of Women Sport Africa Network.

Game previously served as Secretary-General and a Global Executive Member of the International Working Group on Women and Sport (IWG), and she now serves on the same board as Africa Representative for the quadrennial 2022-2026. All of this was due to Game’s passion for women and sport and to ensure opportunities were created for women in sports in Botswana and Africa. Game is an alumnus and a facilitator for Women’s Sport Leadership Academy (WSLA). She holds a master’s in Sport and Olympic Studies from the University of Tsukuba, Japan, a postgraduate Diploma in Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities, both from the University of Botswana.
