So, the season for the men finally comes to a close, as we all knew weeks ago, we weren’t going to make the play offs – except that the Women’s team has made the play off final for promotion. Wendover starts the ball rolling in terms of the apathy towards the season, an appreciation of going two up top and the need for some shithouses in the squad, Pete doesn’t know what day it is, Alan joins us in congratulating the women’s team and look forward to next season with some hope for better. Justin joins and is again grumpy this time about his handling by the stewards preventing him from watching the match with his friends in the family stand (he also confesses to be a bit of meanderer!!!), Pete covers a bit on Parlaci Gino and gets all misty eyed about the 70’s and 80’s when the club managed hooliganism in a mature manner. Paul comes on and tells that unlike Justin he was able to wander around Vicarage Road and that perhaps Justin’s haircut is too distinctive 😊 He also hopes that this is the same as the second season under the Pozzo and discusses what we need in the forthcoming transfer window. Mal joins us from the road and has good words for Kamara working hard but most importantly acknowledging the supporters who travelled at the end of the game. Mal passes the supporters coach and gets a wave, we are joined by Rookery Boi (Happy Birthday today sir!) for an excellent debut call pointing out the we are now top…..of the bottom half of the table!! We talk to the Chorleywood Common tourist department that is John Parslow and pontificate about what Hull is called before we discuss independent record stores and Taylor Swift and then we find out that Mr Parslow Senior confirms that this has been the worst season since 1947 – which was nice, before discussing Wilders comments and lack of impact on the pitch. Shane makes another excellent debut call supporting the players in part and hi-lighting the toxicity of the club culture and a lack of leadership as the root of our lack of grit on the pitch and suggests that the players may have lost their love of football along with their confidence whilst in the Watford/Pozzo bubble. We all voted to put Shane in charge of the club.
