The narcissistic FOG targets of narcissists get entrapped in and remain so post discard or when the relationship is long gone, is difficult to explain away using the school of psychology alone. The narcissist is actually best explained in analogous terms as a spiritual criminal or sole thief/trader, such is the inexplicable hold they exert over their supply sources, ie human beings. It is noticeable to loved ones of a target of a covert narcissist, that while they remain physically present throughout the relationship with their narcissistic partner they don’t appear themselves or to be present in spirit. Also, despite logically knowing the narcissist is out to destroy a person, it appears difficult for their former partners/targets to escape the pull of a narcissist even returning to the relationship, despite knowing it’s not a good move.
