Rock Music and Awakening The Spirit ft. Dorothy

Breaking into the rock music scene is tough, especially for a woman.

Badass rock music front woman, Dorothy Martin, is our guest in today's episode of 'Chats & Tatts' with host Aaron Della Vedova. Doroty is an artist, songwriter, and vocalist of the American rock band, Dorothy.

Dorothy is an American rock singer, known for her powerful vocals and dynamic stage presence. She released her debut album "RockisDead" in 2016, which featured the hit single "Raise Hell." Since then, she has been touring extensively and has released several more albums, including "28 Days in the Valley" and "Wild Heart". She is known for her ability to connect with audiences through her music.

Dorothy is also known for her dynamic live performances. She has toured extensively both in the United States and internationally. Her music is influenced by classic rock, blues, and soul, and she has been compared to artists such as Janis Joplin and Grace Slick.

In this episode Dorothy shares her musical influences, the creative process behind her songs, and her experiences touring and performing. She also share stories and anecdotes from her career, and offers insights into the current state of the music industry.

Dorothy was born in Budapest yet raised in San Diego after fleeing with her mom as a young girl.. Her love for singing started as a kid. Later on, she discovered her passion for songwriting. Then she took a leap to follow her musical dreams in Los Angeles. But like in every story, the road to sold out shows and getting a record deal wasn't an easy one.

2014 was the year when her named-after band, Dorothy, released their first project and it was a hit. Of course, success would not be possible without her bandmates ~ Jason Ganberg, drummer; Devon Pangle & Eli Wulfmeier, guitarists; and Eliot Lorango, bassist.

Dorothy has more than just music under her belt, she was featured in Maxim Magazine and appeared on ABC's Scrubs, and Eli Roth's Goretorium: Music for the Demented Mind Soundtrack as a voiceover and writer. Also, Dorothy was recognized as one of the 50 best new artists by Rolling Stone.

Join us as we discuss her journey to success, how she made her dreams a reality, life on a tour bus and the struggles she has faced on the road, her new found faith and spirituality, and yes, tattoos!
