Breaking generational Trauma Part 2

Breaking generational Trauma Part 2

Addressing generational trauma with your family or whoever you grew up with can be very difficult. Sydney shares the findings of a survey she conducted on social media where she was asking people if they had addressed trauma with their families. From a result of thirty responses, only one person confessed that things had progressed better. Their parents were trying to make active changes, they received an apology, and their relationship moved positively in the right direction.

Two people agreed to have tried, it had been a struggle, but it’s still an open conversation. Sometimes things went well, and sometimes they didn’t. It was difficult in the beginning, but it's now progressing better. Unfortunately, the rest of the 27 participants said that they were met with aggression and that the family refused to take accountability. Things have turned around, and there are a lot of deflections. The tables are turned, and they are blamed for all the situations by being told that they were terrible children.

Join this conversation as we talk more about the steps you can take to start the conversations of redemption. Tune in!
