In this episode, I enjoyed exploring the fascinating world of historical romance with author Liana De la Rosa, discussing her latest release, "Ana Maria and the Fox," the first book in her Latinx Victorian series called The Luna Sisters. We dived deep into the inspiration behind the story, the importance of showcasing Latinx history, and the challenges faced by women of color during that time. We also discussed the appeal of historical romance and how it combines history and fiction to create a perfect escape for readers. Liana shared her love for the genre and how her voice naturally fits the historical characters she creates. Plus, she recommended two historical romances and a contemporary romance, each offering a unique and engaging story. Join me on this captivating journey through history, romance, and the importance of representation in literature!
