Spoiler Discussion: Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 6 [Audio Fixed]
On the June 22, 2022 episode of /Film Daily, /Film editorial director Peter Sciretta is joined by /Film editor Brad Oman and /Film writer and Star Wars expert Bryan Young to have a spoiler-filled discussion about Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 6. Opening Banter: In The Spoiler Room: Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 6 Feedback Chad from New Orleans writes in “the new cone-shaped droid from Kenobi episode 5 appears to be the winner of the "Build My Droid" contest that ran in 2019. Fans were able to submit their droid designs, and the winner would be used in a future project. Here is the official Star Wars website article with pictures of the winner. Just thought it was a cool bit of trivia that you guys might appreciate.” Greg, New Orleans: “During the climax of episode 5 when Reva is crawling on the ground and finds the communicator, she first finds her lightsaber. During the fight Vader broke her lightsaber in half, but now it appears to be whole. Did anyone else notice this mistake, or am I missing something?” Patrick D: “ So I just finished listening to your episode discussing this week’s episode of Kenobi. My question for you is about Vader and him finding out about Luke and Leia. I haven’t read any of the Doctor Aphra comics yet, but I did recently listen to the Doctor Aphra audiobook and thought it was fantastic. In this story, Aphra meets Vader for the first time after the destruction of the first Death Star. Vader uses Aphra to help him with different missions and investigations. The thing Vader becomes fixated on and asks Aphra to help with is finding out more info on Luke Skywalker. Vader, as well as Aphra, eventually figures out that Padme gave birth to a son before her death and that Luke is Vader’s son. If Vader doesn’t find out about Luke until after episode IV, then he can’t find out about the kids in next week’s episode. Right?” Brief reactions Breakdown Speculation Also mentioned: All the other stuff you need to know: You can find more about all the stories we mentioned on today’s show at slashfilm.com, and linked inside the show notes. /Film Daily is published every weekday, bringing you the most exciting news from the world of movies and television as well as deeper dives into the great features from slashfilm.com. Spoiler Discussion: Ms. Marvel Episode 2 ”Crushed”
On the June 17, 2022 episode of /Film Daily, /Film editorial director Peter Sciretta is joined by /Film editor Brad Oman to have a spoiler-filled discussion about Ms. Marvel Episode 2 “Crushed” In The Spoiler Room: Ms. Marvel Episode 2 “Crushed” FeedbackAnil From Thailand writes in: “When Kamala gets her power she flashes back to what I believe to be her greatgrandma's last memory while she was wearing the Bangle. This would have been during the Indian Pakistan partition. There were mass exodus from both Muslim population to what is now Pakistan and Hindu Population from that territory. Violence and horrific things happened to a lot of people during that period. In Episode 2, We know that her greatgrandma abandoned (so the family believes) her daughter to find her way to the train alone.” J.J. for Idaho writes in “I have an idea about where Kamala’s grandmother’s bangle comes from. It reminded me of the ten rings from “Shang Chi.” Maybe they have the same source, or similar sources. If the bangle is Kree, maybe the ten rings are also Kree. It could be that the Kree scattered these artifacts and one ended up in Pakistan and one in China. Maybe there are more still to discover in Asia. “ Brief reactions Breakdown Speculation Also mentioned: All the other stuff you need to know: You can find more about all the stories we mentioned on today’s show at slashfilm.com, and linked inside the show notes. /Film Daily is published every weekday, bringing you the most exciting news from the world of movies and television as well as deeper dives into the great features from slashfilm.com. Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 5 Spoiler Discussion
On the June 15, 2022 episode of /Film Daily, /Film editorial director Peter Sciretta is joined by /Film editor Brad Oman and /Film’s Star Wars expert Bryan Young to have a spoiler-filled discussion about Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 5. In The Spoiler Room: Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 5 FeedbackPeter from Melbourne writes in: “one thing that I have found it odd that the show hasn’t grappled with is that it appears that Leia has grown up in what looks like a pretty sheltered and safe life and then suddenly she is surrounded by murder and death… a storm trooper getting slice in half by a laser wall, lots of shooting and fighting and she doesn’t seem to be having any reaction to it at all… do you think this hasn’t been thought about or is the force protecting her? I guess it sets up her reaction to things in films where she seems to have a measured response to death.” Alex writes in :Given (1) the new theories that each episode parallels a film from the Skywalker Saga, and (2) the interview with Ian McDiarmid at Star Wars Celebration, where he discussed seeing Hayden and Ewan training with lightsabers… …do you think it’s possible that the Emperor will appear in either the 5th or, more likely, the 6th episode (given it’s probable connections to Return of the Jedi and its throne room sequence)?” Calvin from London, UK: “Just listening to the Slashfilm Kenobi spoiler special. You (quite rightly) week after week keep bringing up Kenobi’s relationship to Leia in ANH and pointed out in this episode Leia actually heard ‘Obi-Wan’. You brought this up with Brian who said he’d put a lot of thought into this and her message actually only ever used ‘General Kenobi’. As I’m sure you now have countless emails telling you that her message actually kicks off with one of THE most famous lines in movie history, ‘Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope’.” Reza suggested Memory rub as a solution? Nick M writes in “do you think Grogu was saved by the path?” Ashley D writes in “if the Inquisitors are collecting the bodies of all the Jedi they take down, why did they leave Nari (the Jedi played by Benny safdi) on tatooine?” Brief reactionsThe Empire Strikes Back In Obi-Wan Kenobi's Spellbinding Fifth Episode BreakdownObi-Wan Kenobi Episode 5 Is Yet Another Showcase Of Darth Vader's Incredible Power The Lesson Obi-Wan Kenobi Borrows From Star Wars: The Last Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi Just Gave Us A Major Revelation About Reva Obi-Wan Kenobi Finally Fulfills The Live-Action Promise Of Star Wars: The Clone Wars Speculation Also mentioned: All the other stuff you need to know: You can find more about all the stories we mentioned on today’s show at slashfilm.com, and linked inside the show notes. /Film Daily is published every weekday, bringing you the most exciting news from the world of movies and television as well as deeper dives into the great features from slashfilm.com.
