Dr. Death: The True Story Revealed

Dr. Death: The True Story Revealed

You might've heard the Wondery podcast or seen the Peacock series about "Dr. Death," but is there more to the story? This week, Chris brings you even more details surrounding the infamous doctor who has been charged with killing 2 patients and maiming several others, earning him that chilling moniker.Dr. Christopher Duntsch was a promising spinal surgeon, appearing on dozens of patents and research papers utilizing stem cells to improve the lives of spinal surgery patients. So how did a supposedly brilliant doctor end up with his license revoked and a life sentence in prison? That's where the story gets complicated. Chris drank and did various drugs before performing invasive surgeries. Despite his dangerous addictions, he was able to bounce around hospitals, causing horrendous physical damage to almost 40 people along the way. His ego and hubris ultimately led him to be directly involved in the death of 2 women during surgery, and he was finally indicted on criminal charges.Although this one doctor may serve the rest of his life behind bars, his story shines a light on just how broken the system that is supposed make us feel better truly is, and how we could very well end up with another Dr. Death along the line.Send your true crime suggestions to hello@truecrimerecaps!Support the show AND listen ad-free here!: https://truecrimerecaps.supercast.tech/Follow TCR on YouTube here!Follow TCR on Instagram here!Follow TCR on Facebook here!
