The Hero of Waterloo in Sydney, built from sandstone by convicts in 1843, can lay claim to being Australia's oldest - and most haunted - pub. From rumours of the original publican murdering his wife to a secret tunnel used to smuggle illicit goods, the pub has a sordid history - it's no wonder the disturbed spirits of the dead are said to haunt the premises. Over the years, people have seen the reflection of a lady in the mirror in the women's bathroom, have a heard a piano play all by itself, and have had ghosts touch and blow on them, among other things.
