Approaches to family succession planning

As the average age of our farmers increase, planning ahead to bring the next generation on becomes vitally important.

Recorded at the recent Australian Dairy Conference in Tasmania, Dairy Australia’s Elizabeth Mann caught up with Family Meeting facilitator and succession planning expert Lyn Sykes, to discuss the ins and outs of succession planning, how to approach the conversation in your family and what a successful succession plan can look like.

You can find more information on business planning including succession planning in the Our Farm, Our Plan program at Our Farm, Our Plan | Dairy Australia.

You can find the online booklet mentioned in this podcast discussion - A guide to succession – at https://thepeopleindairy.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/GRDC_succession_guide.pdf
