Welcome to the Cultural Humility Podcast Series presented by Indigenous Vision!

This week Souta Calling Last (Executive Director & Trainer) and Melissa Spence (Producer & Trainer) breakdown the second principle of Cultural Humility: Recognition and mitigation of inherent power imbalances. How are you positioning yourself, work, institution in the world? Learn the ways we can redress the power imbalances and let us recognize that the Cultural Humility framework is inherently anti-racist work and what action it requires from us to be effective. The Cultural Humility model provides a method to advocate and maintain accountability by redressing the power imbalances in our communities. For over two decades, the model has replaced the insufficient notion of “cultural competence” with a cyclical approach that embraces critical self-reflection as a lifelong learning process to create a broader, more inclusive view of the world.
