46. Singleness, Dating, and Relationships: The Episode with Something for Everyone

46. Singleness, Dating, and Relationships: The Episode with Something for Everyone

We all talk about it, no matter what our relationship status is... singleness, dating, relationships, marriage, situationships, etc. And yet honestly I find that sometimes singleness is viewed as the place no one wants to be and we all desperately try to get out of.

What I have found through the last almost 33 years of singleness is that there is such beauty in a season of being single and there is so much those who are dating, engaged, or married can (and should) learn from their single friends.

Some of the things we talk about are:

  • Seeing singleness as a gift and finding contentment and purpose in it... while still very much desiring a relationship
  • Making your single friends feel like a third wheel or outsider, if you are in a relationship
  • Knowing your dating non-negotiables... and knowing when to be flexible in them
  • Wanting to be pursued but not wanting to just be a sitting duck as a woman
  • Feeling the pressure in a relationship to know if someone is the one… especially if you’re waiting to sleep together
  • Telling someone a relationship success story similar to their situation to give them hope… and if we actually should
  • Maintaining friendships when your relationship status changes
  • Becoming your healthiest while you are single

No matter what your relationship status, I can pretty much guarantee there is something in this episode for you.
