Inside Edition reports...A suspect has been apprehended by police in connection with the stabbing death of a Barnard College freshman and news of the arrest is just as shocking as the murder of Tessa Majors. Diane McInerney says the suspect is only 13. For just the third time in history, the House Judiciary Committee has voted articles of impeachment. It's life in prison for a man convicted of killing two doctors inside their penthouse apartment...but the killer was not before the judge when the sentence came down. Thanks to some previous outbursts, he'd been deemed too dangerous to have in the courtroom. And an interesting therapy animal. Israel's airstrikes against Gaza continued today, five days after the attack by Hamas terrorists. The death toll now exceeds 2,100, which according to the State Department, includes 22 Americans. Israel is making good on its pledge of a 'complete siege' of the Gaza Strip. No place there is said to be safe, which is of huge concern to the families of the 150 hostages. As Ann Mercogliano reports, securing their release is a top priority. And while the war is raging in the Middle East, the conflict is reverberating here in the US. Antisemitic incidents are at historic levels, and here in New York, which has the largest Jewish population outside of Israel, the FBI is warning people to remain vigilant in case of lone-wolf attacks. So, could a terror attack happen here? Steven Fabian looks at the possibility. Plus, amidst the horrors of the war, we are hearing inspiring stories of heroes. This young woman is being credited with protecting a community as the terrorists moved in, saving many lives. And she was the darling of the 1984 Olympics, winning gold and America's hearts. But now, 55-year-old Mary Lou Retton is said to be seriously ill and in intensive care. The announcement comes from her daughter, who claims Mary Lou has no health insurance to cover her bills.   To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. A fourth day of fighting between Israel and Hamas has left more people dead, with estimates of the death toll at least 1,700. As one Israeli military spokesman put it, the carnage is unimaginable, comparing what soldiers are discovering to something from a zombie movie. The president confirmed today that 14 Americans have been killed and a number are also being held hostage. Today, family members of some of the missing Americans held a news conference pleading for help. And the Israeli ambassador said to the United Nations that between 100 and 150 people are being held hostage by Hamas, including babies. Hamas has vowed if Israel's counterattack continues, they will start executing hostages on live TV. Might it be possible to negotiate their release or stage a rescue? Jim Moret spoke with a former hostage negotiator with the Israeli Army. Plus, we live in a world of "see something, say something." Well, one guy did just that when he saw what he thought was a fire blazing inside an apartment. But when the fire trucks got there – all five of them – things were not as they seemed. And yesterday, we heard from a woman who says she's been stalked for years by a pilot. Today, we catch up with the accused man as he heads to court. Journalists from around the world have headed to Israel to cover the war on the front line. Today, many had to take cover while heavy bombing could be heard in the Gaza Strip. Israel vows a "full siege" in response to this weekend's devastating attack.   And the death toll continues to rise as the war between Hamas and Israel moves into its third day. There are now nearly 1400 confirmed dead, including nine Americans. The images we see on TV are heartbreaking. As Les Trent reports, Israel's 9/11 is having a big impact on our shores as well. Hamas attacked Israel by land, by sea, and by air, with the latter being a surprisingly low-tech, but efficient method of dropping fighters into Israeli territory. We now know Hamas used paragliders to effectively invade. Jim Moret spoke with a motorized paraglider operator in Southern California, who is appalled that aircraft like these were used as instruments of terror, to see how they work. And as the conflict continues, a number of celebrities are weighing in, with many getting a mixed reaction to their posts. The war hits very close to home for Wonder Woman star, Gal Gadot. She was born in Israel and says her heart is aching over what she's seeing on TV.  To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices.
