We're back in New York after a whirlwind few days in London for King Charles Coronation culminating in last night's blowout concert where Katy Perry brought the house down. But even the stars on the stage couldn't outshine the little royals in the audience who clearly know all the words to Katy Perry's songs! And, if you've lost count of how many mass shootings have happened so far this year, you're not alone. It's a sad commentary in today's times. The latest shooting came this weekend at an outlet mall in Allen, Texas where a gunman, clad in body armor, opened fire with an automatic rifle on shoppers. Eight were killed along with the gunman by a cop who just happened to be there. As Jim Moret reports, the gunman was wearing a patch that symbolizes a right-wing death squad. Plus, according to reports, a grand jury may be meeting today to decide if any charges will be brought in connection with that death on a New York City subway. Meantime a group upset about the killing of a subway performer by a Marine veteran decided to assemble 'on' the subway tracks themselves … a move officials called dangerous and reckless. The Marine veteran claims he was acting defense of himself and other passengers. Les Trent has details, and we warn you this story contains upsetting video. And, closing arguments today in the civil rape trial against former President Donald Trump with E. Jean Carroll's attorney saying she was 'exactly his type.' Although, the judge gave Trump until 5pm yesterday to say he would testify, the deadline passed with no word from the former president. Inside Edition reports…There’s an extraordinary situation in Seattle where the turmoil and calls for racial justice happening across the nation has led to the takeover of a portion of the city. As the standoff continues, now there’s a war of words between the president and local officials. Tough questions are being asked in the case of the two missing children whose remains have just been found. Marine biologists say with humans out of the water recently, sharks have been swimming closer to shore. That means as beaches begin to reopen, be careful if you’re planning to go into the water. And a man who went on a meditation retreat missed the Covid-19 pandemic and had no idea about the George Floyd uproar. He spoke with Jim Moret about how different he found the world when he returned.  To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. Today, New York City began Phase 1 of reopening. As many as 400,000 people were permitted to return to work. How did it go?
