Football season has gotten off to a horrible start for Kansas City star Travis Kelce. The tight end still hasn't scored a touchdown, and so far he's caught only eight passes for 69 yards this season. Critics say he's been distracted by his off the gridiron product pitching, acting career, and his girlfriend. And shocking news from former NFL great Brett Favre. The former Green Bay quarterback was on Capitol Hill today and revealed he has Parkinson’s disease. At a hearing, the 54-year-old Hall of Famer said he lost money investing in a concussion drug. Favre estimates he had hundreds, maybe thousands of concussions during his career - which he believes may have played a role in his diagnosis. Plus, are bears getting smarter? We've seen a lot of run in with bears, and recently we showed you a bear that opened a car door, got in, and shut it behind him! Why are bears getting so brazen? One expert believes they're addicted to sugar. And having a new baby is expensive. Between the cost of diapers and formula and everything else, it can be as much as $800 a month for some families. Which is why a group of moms has been very quietly leaving cash and gift cards just where new parents might find them. Inside Edition reports…There are pleas for calm today in the wake of a weekend which saw protests in at least 140 different cities around the country that were triggered by last week’s death of George Floyd while in police custody. In Beverly Hills a curfew went into effect at one o’clock this afternoon…all part of an effort to prevent more of the looting and violence that rocked locations around Los Angeles that have come to symbolize the difference between the haves and have nots. The protests couldn’t come at a worse time for business owners. With most companies closed for over two months due to the pandemic, June was going to be an opportunity to salvage their businesses…but in too many locations, the unrest has put those plans on hold. And unless you were there, what you know about the unrest in America you know thanks to the work of journalists out in the field…but around the country reporters have been injured, some apparently targeted, as they’ve tried to do their work keeping the rest of us informed. Inside Edition reports…Tensions are high after violence spreads beyond Minneapolis in response to the death of George Floyd while in police custody. Today, President Trump finally commented on the nation’s grim milestone that more than 100,000 people are officially dead from Covid-19. His tweet posted after he came under heavy criticism for seeming to comment on anything but the death toll. Like tens of thousands of people, actor Matt Damon was stranded away from home as he was in Ireland on location for a movie. In a sign that the world is reopening, he was spotted leaving for a flight. And the University of Connecticut senior wanted for two murders was in court today. Les Trent has the inside story of how he was captured and how an Uber ride may have led cops right to him.   To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices.
