Chapter 14:

• Excerpt: issues between infantry and riders

• Finds herself in a forest, can talk to tarin, pressure for her to get back to basgiath by tm for sgaeyl.

• They realize the water blocks them.

• Goal to find a location using a map.

• Lots of arguing on how to proceed, given 2 different map, run into an orange dagger tail.

• Violet tells baide if she kills violet, tarin will not let her live. Baide kills a runner

• What other animals kill like this? A snake?

Chapter 15:

• They lost the challenge, still wandering, infantry better at survival

• Rhiannon laid out all out, Vi won't talk about her and Andarna, xaden, war games, what Vi knows of what's out there, running, it all. Tells her to stop lying.

• Tarin shares that he could hear her but not vice versa

• Rhiannon points out the weird year, guarded infirmary, assassinations, elixir. Violet plays it down and that she didn't say she didn't believe her and rhi says you don't say much anyways

Chapter 16:

• Xaden to Vi letter: his dad wanted him to be in infantry, thought riders were pompous dicks

• Vi goes to the archives and saw effie and Jesinia, reads the record of the RCS

• Cadet killed for requesting an account of a border attack

• jesinia didn't record any of violets requests, she's starting to question the archive legitimacy.

• Jesinia wants help, violet asks for a book on how the first 6 built the wards.

• In sparing class, being a rider is lifelong, infantry is shorter, was xaden's dad infantry

• They think Nolan has someone they are torturing.

• Violet poisoned sloane's opponent, she tells Rhiannon ish, sloane thought she won

• Violet says she can have his letters if she trains, 1 letter a week, Imogen impressed.

• Jesinia brought her a classified book in exchange for the fables book.

• Varrish at her door, they check her bag, asshole as unusual, tarin thinks a few more weeks until andarna wakes.

Chapter 17:

• Dragons and humans made sacrifices for nevarre and wards. Loses of hatching grounds and humans from borders being closed.

• Imogen asks about her and xaden relationship... they're becoming friends 🧡 xaden sent another letter about his childhood.

• Imogen thinks Violet should forgive xaden and accept his secrets, it's normal for riders especially xaden.

• Imogen lays it out harder and to be there for Rhiannon and there are bigger things to worry about.

• Rhiannon letter from her family "be aware of strangers seeking shelter... your kindness could kill"

• Markum took it, he reads it out loud, says it's not official and a regional thing, calls it propaganda that the regional leadership think the destruction is from dragons.

• Violet runs out, releases her power, Rhi follows, Vi lies, asks Rhi to take notes for her in RCS, runs to Jesinia (not Saturday)

• Tarin calls her out for losing control and being in the archives was her attempt, "good point but I would tell Tarin", "already did" lol

• Returns her book, discuss consequences.

Chapter 18:

• The borders of nevarre determined by the limits of the wards.

• Xaden showed up exhausted, she says I want you not I love you like he wants(but he has never said it to her), they talk about her books, and her ward plan.

• They're fighting in their heads in front of others about her secrets, he thinks it's not the same.

• More arguing as they visit Jesinia, run into Nolon, Nolon says he would never hurt her... but will let others???, he's mending a soul.

• I don't think xaden can actually read her mind directly, he has asked frequently what Exactly is she thinking.
