JR Seeger served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne and as a CIA officer for a total of 27 years federal service. Since his retirement, JR has written articles and book reviews in the CIA professional journal "Studies in Intelligence" and the TE Lawrence Society newsletter. MIKE4 was his first novel and the first in a six part series about a family who have served in the special operations and intelligence community from World War II to the present. In 2020, JR has started a new series focusing on the early twentieth century competition among the great European powers. Part fantasy, part thriller, the first book, “A school for the Great Game,” looks at the first decade of the last century through the eyes of a teenager. During his third tour of duty in Vietnam where he served as a Green Beret, Jim Morris was wounded badly enough to be retired from the army. He came home bitter, angry that his career had been ended. After reading The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, he realized that many members of Ken Kesey’s Merry Pranksters had also been combat officers. Following this spiritual “hint,” he spent the next couple of years as an acid head, even skydiving on LSD. Awakened by his LSD experiences, Morris immersed himself in the books of Carlos Castaneda as well as in Kriya yoga, Charismatic Christianity, and A Course in Miracles. From these experiences he was led to Toltec spiritual teacher don Miguel Ruiz and began a deep spiritual journey of change. Sharing his journey from PTSD to spiritual awakening, Morris recounts his time as a civil rights advocate for the Montagnard people in Vietnam and his years as a war correspondent at the same time he was following Castaneda’s Warrior’s Way. He describes his momentous meeting with don Miguel Ruiz as well as his travels around the world and in the astral realms. Sharing how his wife developed dementia and later became paralyzed, Morris explains how it required all his Toltec training, all his military training, everything he had to share her final years in a meaningful and fulfilling way. Dale Comstock was the youngest operator in Delta Force when he joined from the 82nd Airborne and was the master breacher on the military's first successful hostage rescue mission, Operation Acid Gambit which rescued Kurt Muse from the clutches of Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega. Comstock's adventures didn't end when he retired from the Army just before 9/11. He went on the serve as a paramilitary contractor in Afghanistan and then went on to become a mercenary in places like Yemen. Professor James Olson received his law degree from the University of Iowa. He is a professor of the practice at the Bush School, where he teaches courses on intelligence and counterintelligence. He served for over thirty years in the Directorate of Operations of the Central Intelligence Agency, mostly overseas in clandestine operations. In addition to several foreign assignments, he was Chief of Counterintelligence at CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia. Professor Olson has been awarded the Intelligence Medal of Merit, the Distinguished Career Intelligence Medal, the Donovan Award, and several Distinguished Service Citations. He is the recipient of awards from the Bush School and the Association of Former Students for excellence in teaching.
