Dr. Jessi Gold, MD, MS, serves as the Chief Wellness Officer for the University of Tennessee System and as an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. This pioneering role spans all five University of Tennessee campuses, impacting over 62,200 students and 19,000 faculty and staff. In her clinical practice, Dr. Gold treats healthcare workers, trainees, and college students.


A staunch mental health advocate, Dr. Gold is a recognized media expert on topics ranging from burnout to celebrity mental health, contributing to outlets like The New York Times, The Atlantic, and InStyle. Her debut book, 'HOW DO YOU FEEL? One Doctor's Search for Humanity in Medicine,' is a national bestseller. She holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, Yale School of Medicine, and completed her psychiatry residency at Stanford University, where she was Chief Resident.
