021 | ALEXIS WOLFER

Today’s episode of WWRadio is especially rad because our guest is Alexis Wolfer: TV personality, author, and founder/editor-in-chief of The Beauty Bean, an online women’s magazine and e-mail newsletter that gives readers a unique perspective on all things beauty, health and wellness. Forbes Magazine named TheBeautyBean.com one of the Top 10 Women’s Lifestyle Websites & Alexis has become a well-known beauty, fashion and lifestyle expert (as seen on the Today Show, E!, The Doctors, NBC, CBS, ABC and FOX as well as in print outlets from WWD to AOL, CNN.com to Oprah.com, Teen Vogue to Star Magazine, Access Hollywood, and more.) This inspirational young female entrepreneur and I chat everything from business to beauty to body image to food in this relaxed fun conversation. So grab a cup of tea, sit back, listen and enjoy getting to know the woman behind The Beauty Bean.

My favorite lines & nuggets of wisdom: YEP THEY’RE TWEETABLES…

“I think women are smart, I think we are innately beautiful and that we can create media that’s based on those premises and build women up from there.” @alexiswolfler via #WWRadio w/ @katiedalebout

“I still have days where I wake up and feel fat & gross, but I stop myself & know where that’s coming from & not to act on it & there’s people I can turn to.” @alexiswolfler via #WWRadio w/ @katiedalebout

“Being honest with yourself helps you have clarity and move forward in a really positive way.” @alexiswolfler via #WWRadio w/ @katiedalebout

“Every article on the site is really about empowering women to feel beautiful, regardless of what that looks like for you.” @alexiswolfler via #WWRadio w/ @katiedalebout

“We need to know we have an inner voice in order to listen to it and no that it’s okay if sometimes you don’t and that’s okay too.” @alexiswolfler via #WWRadio w/ @katiedalebout

“Women need to love themselves the way they wake up in the morning and not feel like that have to do anything.” @alexiswolfler via #WWRadio w/ @katiedalebout

Tip: To stay in a healthy body image mindset & keep old disordered eating thoughts from coming up, Alexis never weighs herself ever…not even in a doctor’s office and reminds herself that her weight is not her worth.

Beauty Tips: Always keep plain-full-fat organic greek yogurt in the fridge for a face mask or spot treat of blemishes. The lactic acid is really great for breaking down dull skin cells and the probiotics will help breakouts. The cold will help reduce inflammation and calm redness. Put on a medium layer and let sit on your face for about 30 minutes and remove with water or a washcloth. Great to do once a week.

Use extra-virgin coconut oil to take off your eye make-up without irritating your eyes.
