Hal Ziegler's Farewell —Admired Public Servent Dead at 80

by Lisa Satayut, M.live JACKSON, MI – Anyone who crossed paths with Hal Ziegler knew he had an endless love for politics. Ziegler, 80, died Sunday night from a massive coronary heart attack. “It happened so fast. He was on top of the world yesterday,” Hal’s wife, Sue Ziegler, said Monday morning. The former Republican senator and state representative was excited about a new weekly radio segment he was to be featured on for Coffee Party Radio. Sunday was his first segment. After getting home from the radio show the two sat down for dinner, but Sue said Hal was too excited to eat. “He was so excited about the show when we sat down for dinner. He had a pain in his side, gave a gasp and he was gone,” she said. Original show copy: Joining us from Michigan will be former Republican State Senator and State Representative Hal Ziegler. Hal worked closely with Gov. George Romney decades ago, and, was vocal in his criticism of Gov. Mitt Romney during the recent presidential campaign. Hal will be debuting a weekly segment for Coffee Party Radio, in which he will offer his persepctive on current events and then take questions.
