11/8: Millions of Americans head to the polls today in midterm elections that could reshape the political landscape in Washington.

It is a very big day in America. People across the country are casting their ballots and in some areas, there are lines outside polling places. More than 40 million people voted early nationwide, and we are expecting high turnout today, with so much at stake. Where things stand in Washington now, Democrats control the House, but not by much. The Senate is split 50/50, but Democrats have control because Vice President Kamala Harris has the tie-breaking vote. Republicans hope to take both chambers. In 2020, the presidential election came down to the state of Pennsylvania, and it remains a state that is hard to predict. In Nevada, the economy is a top concern for many voters headed to the polls. That could be bad news for Democrats. The stakes are high this morning for Democrats and Republicans, and the American people of course. CBS News Senior White House and Political Correspondent, Ed O'Keefe, and CBS News Congressional Correspondent, Scott MacFarlane, are with us to discuss the potential impact of the election results around the country.
