Cowboy Wisdom w Rob

Ronny McKinley and Jody Beggs are my guests. Ronny McKinleywas born Polk County, Florida. Jody Beggs was born in Alachua County, Florida. However, these guys would never cross paths until it was meant to be. It was that hot July night in Live Oak, Fl at the Spirit of The Suwannee Music Park both guys were on the same venue. Back stage they met and talked about Nashville and their future in the music industry. Come to find out both of them were moving to Nashville the next week. And they did…separate ways…different paths….but somehow they did stay in touch. After a while somehow they both would end up living and writing with the Legend Hank Cochran (I Fall To Pieces) (Little Bitty Tear) (The Chair) and many, many more. Ronny and Jody always said that when they came home from Nashville back to Florida they would start their own band and call it McKinley and Beggs and man did they keep their word…One year after starting McKinley and Beggs, Florida Magazine rated the two along with Creed and Matchbox 20 as the three top Entertaining Bands originating out of Florida. Phenomenal writers the both of them new that someday, someone would hear their music and pay attention…and that’s just what happened at the end of 2008 when the Legendary Mel Tillis heard the guys demos and called them in for a meeting. “You guys have got it!“ say’s Mel. The rest is history….In January of 2009 McKinley and Beggs were in Ashland City, Tn at Mel’s Farm recording Demo’s which turned into their first Radio Records Project produced by Mel Tillis and Sonny Tillis.
