The Poor Widow in the Gospel today wanted to give everything to God. The Lord recognized the importance of that contribution. Charity is the principal virtue of Christians. The greatest manifestation of the Love of God is the charity of Christ agonizing on the Cross for us. If we were to summarize the readings of today, we could do so in three words: Charity, Sacrifice and Reward.
