Micah: Finding God's Goodness In The Darkness | Chapter 1

I love the Pixar movie, Wall-E. What’s not to love about an animated dystopian love story? When the movie came out, it was comical to see an entire population of overweight people living their entire lives on screens. Now? Well, that depiction doesn’t seem so far fetched.

We are surrounded by hundreds of ways to distract ourselves from reality, from ancient practice of drinking excessively to the modern habit of staring at our phones. But, it makes sense, right? Reality can be a brutal place. It’s easier to escape it than to make sense of it.

The book of Micah serves up a healthy dose of reality. Micah exposes injustice, corruption, and our own affection for idolatry. It is brutal. Yet, Micah also powerfully points us to a better hope. Instead of escaping through hundreds of distractions, Micah encourages us to trust God and his promises. He says that God’s people will see His goodness, even in times of darkness. I’d love for you to join us as we kick off our new series, Micah: Seeing God’s Goodness in the Darkness.
