Show insiders have confirmed that season 3 of Amazon Prime Video’s epic fantasy will jump several years beyond the events of season 2, plunging viewers headlong into a fully ignited War of the Elves and Sauron.

At the end of season 2, Sauron (Charlie Vickers) emerged triumphant, seizing control of Mordor by removing Adar (Sam Hazeldine) from the equation and securing the nine Rings of Men. Despite a brewing alliance among Elven leaders, the Dark Lord remains a formidable menace. This new chapter is set to explore his efforts to forge the One Ring — a master creation designed to subject all races of Middle-earth to his will.
