Beacon Pines, Foretales, and Other Deck-Builders to Play on the Switch

Welcome to another episode of The Pure Nintendo Podcast! This milestone episode marks our tenth outing, and boy, do we have fun making this show each week. We begin this week with our usual amiibo discussion, which takes a twist as Jemma reaches her own milestone by matching Roger's amiibo numbers. with our co-hosts neck and neck, who will take the lead next week?

We also delve into the many and varied games we've been playing lately, including the fan-created homage to Mario games known simply as Super Mario Bros. 5.
There's more Mario love in store with a chat about Super Mario 3D World's collectathon. Can Jemma collect all 380 green stars? Plus, we look forward to the world premiere of the Super Mario Movie trailer. An entire Nintendo Direct is dedicated to this reveal, so it's bound to mark something special.

We talk about visual novels and deck-building games, from the dark-yet-cute Beacon Pines to Foretales. These deck-builders with a difference lead to a whole discussion on the genre, and Roger gives some tips on where to start; maybe Jemma even tried one without knowing it!

We may have played a little Splatoon 3 as well this week. Maybe. Probably.
Finally, we discuss some upcoming games we're excited about, like the universe-spanning No Man's Sky, which makes its way to the Switch soon.
