The War Beneath My Feet

Imagine living next door to neighbors who seem to despise you from day one. That's exactly what happened to our letter writer, who found themselves in a passive-aggressive war with their duplex neighbors, Brad and Carla, from the moment they moved in. It started with two enormous, neurotic dogs named Satan and Lucifer, whose incessant barking and pooping habits quickly turned the shared backyard into a nightmare. What began as a simple request to clean up the dog waste escalated into a full-blown feud. The neighbors responded to complaints with surveillance cameras, trash on the staircase, and passive aggressive notes. The situation devolved further with garbage being dumped in the yard and full dog poop bags being left on the letter writer's porch. The conflict reached a breaking point when the letter writer overheard Brad and Carla arguing and saw them disposing of something large and suspicious behind their shed. Ultimately, the landlord intervened, resulting in Brad and Carla's eviction. This is a story about escalating neighborly conflict, passive-aggression, and the lengths people will go to make each other's lives miserable.
