Just last week, major cryptocurrency exchange Bybit's cold wallet of etherium was compromised triggering a rush of withdrawals from users fearing potential insolvency.

Here in Singapore in late 2024, Singapore’s regulator unveiled new measures meant to ring-fence Singapore customers’ assets to avoid the huge losses that can occur when cryptocurrency firms went bust - among them requiring customers assets from those of the digital asset firm's own assets.
