S3 Ep6 Walking Well - 'Beatitudes' Part 2

It's week 2 looking at The Beatitudes.

Jonny and Sarah focus down on the first Beatitude in Matthew 5:3 - God blesses those who are poor and realise their need for Him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.

Great to hear some community stories in there too.

One day as he saw the crowds gathering, Jesus went up on the mountainside and sat down. His disciples gathered around him, 2 and he began to teach them.

3 “God blesses those who are poor and realise their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.4 God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted.5 God blesses those who are humble, for they will inherit the whole earth.6 God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for theywill be satisfied.7 God blesses those who are merciful, for they will be shown mercy.8 God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God.9 God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God.10 God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. (NLT)

In 2025 we are Walking Well, thinking about our decision to choose the narrow way. Encouraging each other to find space to grow and have a go to make disciples and serve the city. Understanding how to walk with Jesus and what that means for our heart, soul, mind and strength.Walking Well – We are made to walk in the garden as friends of God. We are made to walk humbly, doing what is right and loving mercy. We are made to walk as children of Light. We are made to walk worthy of the calling we’ve received.
