Episode 151: When Life Is More Than You Can Handle with Nicole Jacobsmeyer

You are not alone. Suffering is one of the number one reasons people leave their faith, rather than cling to it. Some in the western church believe that if God is in it, it should be easy. Even Job spends days defending his suffering before his friends. We need a stronger theology of suffering and today’s episode leans into these concerns. Whether you are a parent, a leader, or someone who is just taking your life day-by-day as the waves of grief, loss, and doubt come faster than you can catch your breath - this episode is for you.

Terra interviews Nicole Jacobsmeyer, who is well acquainted with suffering. She gathered so much experiential wisdom, encouragement and insight through her long journey of suffering. Nicole is a homemaker, chocolate chip cookie lover, entrepreneur, bible study teacher and writer. She is the author of Take Back Your Joy: Fighting For Purpose When Life Is More Than You Can Handle (David C. Cook, 2022). She believes that no matter what trials you’re going through or how difficult your past was, Jesus can help you overcome it to walk in victory. Through her authenticity in sharing her own struggles, Nicole encourages women to keep going when all seems lost. She believes that it’s possible to find lasting joy and purpose in Christ and that He is good no matter what life brings our way.
