Interview Mick Giacchino

Mick Giacchino is a composer for film and television in both live-action and animated mediums. He is the son of Oscar-winning composer Michael Giacchino. Since his debut with Jim Henson’s “Turkey Hollowin” 2015, Mick has contributed to projects such as Disney’s Zootopia+, Netflix’s animated feature Extinct,”The Curious Creations of Christine McConnell,” and additional music for “The Batman.” In 2021, he released his first instrumental EP, “Perseverance.” His recent work includes the HBO/DC original series “The Penguin,” Disney’s “The Muppets Mayhem” and AMC+’s “That Dirty Black Bag.” Coming up for Mick is the Disney+ Star Wars series Skeleton Crew which will start airing as of December 3rd 2024 on Disney+.


In this episode of Composer Talk Mick Giacchino talks about the popular HBO series The Penguin. We analyse the theme's he wrote of the show. We talk about the fun he had on writing music for The Muppets Mayhem. He also gives us a small insight on what to expect for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, the new Disney+ Star Wars series that will start airing soon.
