These words mark the end of the Gospel of St. John. As we are about to celebrate Pentecost Sunday, the Church also draws closer to the conclusion of the Easter Season. Essentially, it states that the Gospel itself is concluded but intentionally remains incomplete. St. John informs us that there is numerous other things Jesus has done, which he does not disclose. Although the Gospels contain historical content, they are not meant to be treated as history books. While they include details about the life of Jesus, they are not biographies attempting to satisfy every hunger for minute particulars.
