Egyptian mythology horror podcast Long Night in Egypt arrives at the Hall of Two Truths — the judgment chamber of Osiris, where every soul must face the weighing of the heart. In the Duat, after death, every soul is brought before Osiris and the forty-two judges of Ma'at. The heart — seat of the soul, repository of every action and every sin — is placed on one side of the scales. On the other side is the feather of Ma'at, symbol of truth and cosmic order. If the heart is heavier than the feather, Ammit devours it and the soul ceases to exist. If it is lighter, the soul passes on. The students are standing in front of the scales. They are not dead.
