The Texas Killing Fields: Victims, Profiling & Police Failures | Part 1

In Part 1 of our two-part series on the Texas Killing Fields, we dive into the disturbing stretch of land off I-45 near Calder Road—a place that became a dumping ground for dozens of young women and girls from the 1970s through the 1980s. We chronicle the murders and disappearances that shocked the nation, analyze the crime scene at Calder Field, and reflect on the horrifying reasons it was "perfect" for hiding bodies.

As therapists and horror lovers, we bring a unique lens to the case: unpacking the early victim profiling missteps, the rampant victim blaming, and the unbelievable level of police incompetence in preserving evidence and handling crime scenes. While we save most of the psychology and corruption for Part 2, this episode is full of sharp insights and (yes) some incredulous reactions.
